GuideVu Onscreen Tutorials
The GuideVu Onscreen Tutorials provide graphical podcasts
currently for Flash 8, DreamWeaver 8, Microsoft Excel 2003/2004
and Microsoft Access 2003, with other software types to be available
during 2008. Evaluation Demo Packs can be downloaded for each software
type (see the Demo Packs section below).
The podcasts can be
opened with QuickTime Player or Windows Media Player and placed
at the corner of the Flash, DreamWeaver, Excel or Access screens.
The podcasts can also be run from a MP3 player capable of
displaying graphics or video, placed next to the computer.
No printing of the tutorials is neceesary.

Using the Podcasts
Students
play 30 seconds or so of the podcast, pause it, carry out the
activities in Flash DreamWeaver, Excel or Access, return to
the podcast, watch the next 30 seconds or so, and so on. Hundreds
of zoomed screen shots guide students through the software
activities and Assignments are provided at the end of each
podcast..
Each podcast is matched to chapters of the available PDF documents
allowing for student choice in the delivery format. The podcasts
can also be placed on the school’s web site, on
student’s MP3 players or laptops, for use outside school
hours.
Most of the podcasts
run for 15-20 minutes and are around 10-20 MB in size.

QuickTime podcasts (2-3 minutes) can be opened from the links
below, along with the instructions file that describes how
the product could be used. Further
sample podcasts can be viewed from the Flash 8, DreamWeaver
8, Excel 2003/2004 and Access 2003 pages. There are also Demo
Packs (see below).

Each podcast module can be purchased as a single
or multi-user version.

Single-user versions are for individual use only.
Multi-user versions are for organisations that will have more than
one person using the podcasts at any particular time.
Demo Packs
The following demo packs can be downloaded. They
contain a full podcast in QuickTIme Player and Windows Media Player
formats along with all the support files that are supplied with
the podcasts. There is an 'Evaluation Only' message at a
few sections of each podcast.
